Paddling on the Lahn

The Lahn is one of Germany's most popular rivers for canoe tours. And withour a doubt, it is one of the most beautiful canoe rivers. It is passable by canoe all season at a length of approx. 160 km, starting at Marburg and ending at the mouth into the Rhine at Lahnstein.

The charming landscape, the intact nature aside from industrial sites, big cities and traffic noise, cultural sights and the changing course of the river with small rapids and manually driven locks invite you to an exciting experience.

Our tip for your trip

As an extensive day trip, we recommend you the canoe tour from Weilburg to Runkel (26 km, 4 locks). A special highlight is the passage through Germany's only ship tunnel which is located at Weilburg.
